REGISTERED NUTRITIONIST
Hi, I'm Shaz, founder of Sarchamy Nutrition, I'm a Registered Nutritionist specialising in Women's health.
I'm a proud member of the The British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine (BANT) and qualified as a Nutritional Therapist from the world renown; Institute for Optimum Nutrition (ION). Before that I studied Biomedical Science, and did my Honours in Neuroscience at The University of Edinburgh.
My practice revolves around evidence based science where I support, educate and empower my clients to fully understand and experience the role positive nutrition and lifestyle choices can have on their health and happiness.
I combine my qualified approach to nutrition with total dedication to my clients’ needs.
I passionately studied science throughout school earning my place at Edinburgh University where I studied Biomedical Science and did my Honours in Neuroscience. After graduating I worked in Medical Communications for 6 years, continuing to explore and develop my interest in science. Over the years my interest in scientific research relating to nutrition and health culminated in my decision to embark on a post grad, to study Nutrition.
Whilst studying, I was diagnosed with PCOS.
Before that, my body was in melt down – I was under eating, over exercising, stressed (physically and mentally), my blood sugars were a mess, my thyroid wasn’t functioning properly, I hadn’t had a period for more than a year, I had cysts on my ovaries and after about a year of GP visits, tests and scans, I was diagnosed with PCOS.
With not much help out there once diagnosed, I got to work on myself… through experience, women’s health became a great passion of mine that continued throughout my studies and now into practice.
There are so many women who suffer with gynecological and menstrual issues. It’s painful, its tiring, its emotional and it’s not normal!
With the knowledge I gained during my extensive training I worked my own way back to good health by balancing my hormones and alleviating many symptoms that were making me miserable. Now, as a nutritionist, I support, educate and empower women to fully understand and experience the role positive nutrition and lifestyle choices can have on their health and happiness.
All the programs I develop with my clients are bespoke with their specific goals and concerns at the heart of our work together.
